Network Engineer – job description

We are seeking highly motivated engineer to help with our continued growth and development of superior solutions for our clients.
Essential functions: 1- development and implementation of multi-protocol network solutions including LAN/WAN, computing, security, voice and business process optimization. 2- Assist sales team in responding to opportunities and identifying new opportunities, 3- provide ongoing support and optimization of existing installed base.
Key competencies/capabilities: 1- broad knowledge of LAN/WAN and desktop, Exchange, Windows Server, firewall / VPN, routers, switches, Ethernet, TCP/IP, SMTP, and VOIP. 2- understanding of client-server solutions that integrate with the LAN/WAN. 3- In-depth knowledge of AD domain architecture and SQL. 4- Current knowledge of industry trends and an eagerness to drive leading edge solutions. 5- Ability to understand customer’s specific business needs and lead and manage complex projects to address these needs. 6- Provide leadership to customers and sales team in selecting/implementing advanced technology solutions. 7- work with customers in developing high availability systems management practices and provide ongoing support.
Education: B.S. in Information Science Engineering or related field and/or commensurate experience
Experience: 4+ years of network architecture experience including Windows2003/2008 Server, Windows Workstation, MS exchange, VOIP, and TCP/IP routing & switching.
Preferred Certifications – Cisco CCNA and CCNP, Microsoft MCSE 2003. Interactive Intelligence CIC, Digium SwitchVox or Adtran routing and switching are all pluses.
Skills – strong analytical and problem solving skills. Excellent oral and written communications skills, ability to present technical solutions to customers
